Book Awards Ceremony

The President of the American Society of International Law, Sean D. Murphy, and the ASIL Executive Director, Mark D. Agrast, in recognition of a work of high technical craftsmanship and utility to lawyers and scholars (Honorable Mention) for The Wealth of a Nation: A History of Trade Politics in America (Oxford University Press, 2018), and designated a work of great distinction, presented to C. Donald Johnson, a 2019 Certificate of Merit. Based on the recommendation of a committee of Society members, this honor is awarded annually to a recent work that represents a distinguished contribution to the field. The award was presented, along with only four other book awards, at the 113th Annual Meeting of the Society, bringing together over 1,200 scholars and practitioners of international law from throughout the world.
